My artistic practice is focused on dissecting what is considered natural versus unnatural, exploring the idea of controlled and uncontrolled, and how these constructs affect our social climate. I use my lived experience for this, (currently what I have been through within the American legal and healthcare system), relying on collected documents, photographs, writing, research, and memories. My work ranges from large-scale and messy, with paint, various textures, and abstraction, to works that are small, neat, and more literal. I want to navigate life with an open mind, embracing my evolution as both an artist and a person. My work is a product of reflection and curiosity, and I aim to provoke the viewer to do the same, which I acknowledge is not always an easy or comfortable thing to do.
